The Experimental Research Methodology of Toroidal Cutting Processes

Abstract: The paper aims to present the research methodology of metalworking with a toroidal milling machine. It focuses on monitoring the different variables in the processing process. The paper presents the type of tool to be used in the experimental processing as well as the direct control of the tool. The paper also shows how experiments will be performed with the numeric control center type. Different parameters will be monitored during experiments and these monitoring procedures will be presented in this paper. The main parameters monitored will be surface quality, electricity consumption, tool wear, vibration level and acoustic emission level. After obtaining these parameters in the future researches, they will try their mathematical modeling, in this paper presenting the applicability of the neural network for roughness.

Checking the Truck Chassis after the Repair Process

Abstract: The objective of paper is to establish an algorithm for checking the behavior of the chassis after the repair process. The result of the verification will allow the repairing service to provide warranty for the work performed. In this way, a repaired chassis database will be created, which will support the future decisions on the opportunity to undertake the chassis repair process according to the shape and dimensions of the deformations.

Human Resource Behaviour in Technology Adopter Production Systems. Exploratory Study

Abstract: Technological development is universally recognized as one of the engines of economic development. This is true at both macroeconomic and microeconomic level. With regard to firms that have a behaviour oriented towards the introduction of innovation, firms that adopt new technologies, there are a number of factors that influence this process. In this paper I will focus on the human factor. The general perception is that these firms encourage their own employees to accept change more easily. The human resource, through its behaviour and attitude, can influence the process of diffusion of technology at the production system level. In order to identify the socio-economic effects of this process, we conducted a case-study exploratory research. At the same time, I also aimed at identifying the perception of the human resource over the behaviour of the management of the organization. This research is intended to be a first step that in the future can lead to a series of recommendations for production systems that aim to adopt new technologies.

Study on the Influence of Capacity Adjustment with Fluid Elements on the Operating Cycle of a Compressor and Thermodynamic Values

Abstract: The paper presents the possibility of implementing bistable fluidic element based on the Coandă effect, in the automatic control of the compressor refrigeration capacity control. Also, this paper presents some aspects regarding the change of the working’s cycle for the compressor which corresponds to the functional regime at minimum and maximum refrigerating capacity. As well the work shows the change of the values of cooling steams refrigerant flow for an hour, which has implications on the values of refrigerating capacity which corresponds to those two functional regimes.

Statistical Control of a Manufacturing Process, Established through the Measurement, Applied to Furniture Parts

Abstract: The paper presents experimental research meant to increase the quality of some mass produced furniture items. Firstly, a great number of size measurements have been done on beech and birch wood parts obtained through milling and drilling with numerically controlled machines. The experiment lasted for a week, with work being done in two shifts. The experimental database was then processed and interpreted in line with the statistical analysis methods. Finally, conclusions regarding the measures that need to be taken in order to assure an accurate adjustment of the machine as well and an optimization of the production process were formulated.

Theoretical and Experimental Aspects Regarding the Control of Actuators Used in Gas Thermal Power Plants

Abstract: This paper presents the improvement of the functioning of the gas valves in the thermal power plant component, in which the gas burns a burning furnace (G20 - Methane Gas) manufactured by 2013, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No.813/2013 and the Technical Regulation of 12.10.2015”Norm for the design, execution and operation of central heating installations (revised and merged norms I 13-2002 and I 13/1-2002)”, indicative I 13-2015. The details are presented during the measurements, and the experimental results are recorded in a table and can be seen the results obtained.

Theoretical and Experimental Aspects Regarding the Dynamic Circumferential Pressure Distribution to the Sliding Radial Working Bearings under Hard Shocks

Abstract: This paper presents a few theoretical assessments concerning the function of radial bearings with HD lubrication in the case of huge challenging working. We consider only the approaching motion between spindle/axle and bushing on the direction of the center line, without the rotation of the spindle/axle (the case of the non-rotating bearing), so that the effect of the lubricant expulsion be prevalent in the achieving of the self-carrying film. We present the determining relationship of circumferential pressure distribution, squeeze force coefficient γ for narrow radial bearings exposed to shocks and vibrations, as well as the determining relationships of the lubricant minimum thickness in relation to the dynamic loading.

Experiments on Cinematic and Dynamic Factors which Influence Sorting of Granular Materials

Matrix Alloys for Production of Aluminium Foams

Abstract: As matrix for these specimens, aluminium based alloys with low liquidus and solidus temperatures were selected. Alloy systems considered include estabilished combinations of aluminium with Cu, Mg, Si and Zn as well as special quaternary mixtures of these elements. First examinations presented include thermal analysis of alloys as well studies on expansion vs. time and temperature relationships of precursor material based on new alloys and foaming agent variants.

Variation of Radius of Curvature of the Cycloid Wheel’ Profile

Abstract: Cycloid gear reducer is a planetary reducer whose satellites have a closed cycloid profile and the fixed wheel is a crown of rolling bolts. The performances in operation of these extremely complex gears reducer can be achieved if, in the geometric-constructive design phase, the optimal correlation of the geometric parameters of the component elements is made. To a great extent, the dynamic behavior of the cycloid gears depends on the variation of the radius of curvature of the theoretical profile and of the real profile. The paper present the geometrical elements defining the two wheels of cycloid gearing similarly to involute gears wheels geometrical elements. Also, are determinate the parameters that influence de cycloid profile curvature’s radius. That general formula offers the possibility of study the necesary condition to avoid the understeer and the disadvantages parts of cycloid profile in terms of contact resistance.
